What should I do if I feel like harming or killing myself?

 

There are lots of help available so please use it.

 

It is important that you contact your GP or ‘Out of Service Hours’ GP and tell them immediately.


Lifeline is a 24 hour counselling service that can get you the help you need anytime, day or night.

What can you do to help a person who self-harms or shows suicidal behaviour?

 

Show that you can see the person behind the behaviour
Show that you care for the person (do not judge them)
Show concern for the injury itself
Make it clear that self-harm and suicide is ok to talk about and that it can be understood
Offer support and encourage the person to seek help
